每个人的青春期都或多或少的有过迷茫，躁动，愤怒和困惑。电影主人公贾斯汀（卢•泰勒•普奇 Lou Taylor Pucci饰）有着吮拇指的幼稚习惯。贾斯汀一直想要克服这个难缠的习惯，其实这个习惯只是一个青少年青春期困惑的一个缩影，其他的困惑还包括性和家庭等。在改变这个习惯的意愿下隐藏的，是贾斯汀对成长的不自觉的渴望。每个人成年人都可以在这部电影中找到自己曾经的影子，这个故事中的严肃，真挚，诙谐，都是那段青春时光不可抵抗的魅力。

Single-mother Sandra (Clare Dunne) escapes her abusive partner with her two young children, only to find herself trapped in temporary accommodation. After months of struggling, she draws inspiration from one of her daughter’s bedtime stories and hits upon the idea of self-building an affordable home. She finds an architect who provides her with plans and is offered land by Peggy (Harriet Walter), a woman she cleans for. Aido (Conleth Hill), a building contractor, appears willing to help too. But as her past rears its head, in the form of Gary (Ian Lloyd Anderson), her possessive ex, and as bureaucrats fight back against her independent spirit, will Sandra be able to rebuild her life from the ground u

This film, very much of its time shows London in the early 1970's. Of course now a different world. Note the old fashion Underground ticket machines, and the Black and White Telly in the flat. The location looks very much like Churchill Gardens, Pimlico, with Battersea Power Station in the background. And, plenty of smoking going on, in pubs, and on the tube. The film is strangely sexy in its own way, with the young girl playing along with the much older man, its really a sexual fantasy come true. It is another one of those British low budget film where the low budget adds to rather that take away value. Watch for fun, which is what it is.

In seventeenth century England Lord Whitman wages unending war on what he sees as the ever-present scourge of witchcraft, and many local villagers have suffered at his hands. But one victim uses her occult powers to curse his family, enlisting unknowing help from one of the household.
